An amazing weekend...

This weekend was so fun for so many different reasons.
The top 10 reasons in random order:
1- I ran Cooper River Bridge Run, 6.2 miles, without stopping!
2- I did it with my bestest, Holly...I'm so glad we got to share this together :)
3- I ate a fried crab cake at a cool restaurant "Vickery's"and LOVED it!
4- warmth, after a chilly morning of running
5- Michael was awesome, as always, taking care of Stella at the condo while Mommy accomplished another goal :)
6- Watching Stella and Haven play together
7- Laughing my head off at the "Shake Weights" commercial ;)
8- Free delicious muffins after the race
9- my IPOD that kept my mind off of running for the 6.2 miles
10- the beach, need I say more?
The Cooper River Bridge Holly and I waiting for the race to begin

Only a glimpse of the 40,000 people that ran the race... amazing!
here we go!

The view as we were going over the bridge, while running, or course :)

WE DID IT!!!!

giving kisses, so sweet

The morning we left, we got to walk over to the beach..thankfully the wind wasn't as strong as the day before.
one can never have too many beach pictures...

a little of March...

Stella has grown so much the past month, it's unbelievable. She loves being outside, like the rest of us...especially with Daisy. Her vocabulary has increased and I think she understand every word I say. Here are a few snapshots from March.
sitting on the dinosaur...she loves to back up and sit on just about anything ;)
she knows each animals name by pointing, and can push, pull, and twist to make all the animals appear.. yay!!

Western girls

Sporting her new sun hat in her "winter fun " shirt while looking in the mirror :)

Stella playing with her blocks that I picked up for 6 bucks! I have another post I want to do on how much we learn through blocks. Michael could actually write the post...he's heard me talk enough about development. I love it...

cutesy stuff...

Ok, so I saw these buckets in a boutique and said to myelf.. "I could SO make that!" So, after several months of looking into the products, buckets and vinyl, I have my long awaited bucket! :) I think they are super cute and I'm thinking about selling them? What do you think? Post a comment or email me your thoughts... sweetstellatreats@yahoo.com

Or an Easter bucket :)

Little Sponge...

I have looked forward to the day that I get to play and learn with my own child, like I've played and learned with so many other children in my classrooms. Now, I see Stella pulling out tupperware and remind myself, she's learning to put things in and out, that everything has a home and the tupperware belongs in the basket...although sometimes, she doesn't like to put them back in their "home" :) Oh well, that's the fun of being a Mommy, right? :) Here is one of my projects I made for Stella...her very own environmental print book...and it didn't cost me a dime :) (well...other than the food..that we ate)
I always asked my Pre-K and Kindergarten students if they could read, and their answer was always "NO! I'm too little to read" or "My mom said you were going to teach me to do that!"
But, then I would bring out my environmental print, like a cup from McDonald's and ask them, "What does this say?" and of course, they would all chime out "MCDONALD'S!" So then I would reply, " I thought you said you couldn't read!!!" You should have seen the proud smiles that came across their faces!
There are some things I miss about teaching...but I am so blessed to be able to take what I have learned and "plan" with my own child. I even told Michael the other day, "Maybe I can start a blog about games you can play with your children and what they learn through them!" (not that there aren't a thousand already, but it could be somethings that us new Mom's can look at and learn from each other) ... Then I came back to reality and remembered I already have enough to keep track of in the computer world! So, I'll just share what I've learned and used right here.
I'm still a teacher....just in a different setting :)
