just the beginning...
Summer has just started but I feel like we've had a head start with an early vacation and nowhere to be on any given day! :) My little's are getting so big and tackling more milestones by the day.
Sawyer has converted into his big boy "bed" and has potty trained for a solid week now with only a handful of accidents.
Stella has been cleaning and making her bed a lot lately. I am so proud of her and her willingness to work and help out. Sawyer likes to turn the "clean up" music on to help :)
Stella and her princess nails that lasted all of 4 minutes :)
painting rocks
Sawyer liked dumpling the eyeballs out
Splash Pad fun!
A few days back was National Eat your Veggies Day, so we had a store and tried cucumbers from the garden. Stella liked dipping them in ranch. Sawyer wasn't too crazy about them.
Big boy undies...
Pool Party and the Summey's So fun!!!
One of Stella's favorite books right now is Pinkalicious and the Fairy House. So, she wanted to make a fairy garden just like hers...we are still working on the garden, but here they are painting the houses.
YARD DAY!!! (or should I say yard weekend :)
Stella washing her bike...
Happy sunny days to you!!

Fripp Island 2013
A few weeks ago, we headed to Fripp Island for our annual beach trip. Thanks to Gus and Heather for letting us rent the house year after year!! The kids did great in the car (thanks to Pinterest for car games and ideas). Mom and Dad were able to come join us for a few days, then we had to head back a few days early because of the tropical storm. Despite the rain and thunderstorms, it was a fun trip, spent with my favorite people of all time.
The pool was Stella's favorite place to be this year.
I love how they have the exact same look on their faces ;)
Daily golf cart ride
Stella and Sawyer dancing while waiting to be seated at the island restaurant. I had fish tacos for the first time and fell in LOVE!
We had a good bit of rain while we there, but thankfully we had somewhere to sit so we could still be outside.
showing me his seashells
squirting Daddy...so fun
I bought these bathing suits and couldn't wait to get their picture, but almost had to bribe Stella to wear it...she wasn't so sure why her belly had to show :)
Evening bike rides with our deer friends
Not sure what next year holds...I'm crossing my fingers for Disney :)

Expressions Dance
Stella finished up her first year of dance a few weeks ago. She met new girls, learned some tap and ballet and most importantly, had fun.
She and Zoe got to be really close and luckily we still see them on Tuesdays at the library.
They finished the year with a sweet recital showcasing all their hard work. She was really excited about wearing the make-up :)

the end is near...hallelujah!
Mom went for her last treatment this past Tuesday. No, it's not over yet, but knowing this was her last Chemo treatment with no complications, was a big sigh of relief. I made her a little sign to hold to celebrate.
A little history to explain the next picture. Our first treatment, we were shown a wooden chair covered in buttons....of all shapes and sizes. The nurse explained that it represented each person that had undergone Chemo. A few weeks later, the chair was gone, which she explained belonged to the Charlotte office, but they would be starting a button chair of their own to be housed in Lincolnton. So, Mom was instructed to bring in a button. She chose one of her Dad's buttons from one of his shirts that was her favorite. She said she didn't realize how small he was until she looked at his shirt that she hadn't seen is so long. :)
My quick attempt at my first "ombre" for her celebration cake :) The purple seemed to be more of a grayish color which was odd...but, oh well..Mom thought it was great :)
The next step is to get through the effects from the last treatment, then begin radiation for the next 6 weeks. This is everyday, Monday thru Friday. Thanks again for all the prayers- she has made it through a lot and continues to need your prayers. Way to go Mom!
