4 months old

Sawyer is getting so big. He laughs and giggles all the time. I love the way his eyes close when he laughs out loud when we're tickling him. He watches Stella play and smiles from ear to ear just seeing her have fun. She is a good little helper when I need an extra set of hands...she's even tried picking him up, but thankfully he's a little too large for that. The doctor always comments on how calm he is...today he weighed 17lbs 10oz. and was 27 inches long. Happy 4 months Sawyer!

I think everyone knows that this was Stella's pink seat...I'm trying to convice Michael that no one thinks I bought a pink seat for Sawyer... :)

around here...

....we are getting so big! Is that a 6 month old, or 3 1/2 month old? Sawyer has his 4 month check-up next week and I'm so anxious to see what he weighs and how long he is! I can't believe it most days!

Stella's choice for movie night was Charlotte's Web...again... This time after watching it, she asked for her barn (which had been on the top shelf in her closet) and now I know why. Here's Wilbur, and later I found "Ike", the horse in the barn too. I wish you could here her say "they're in mister zuckerman's barn"...that's a hard word for a 2 year old! I love pretend play :)

Stella drawing herself for the first time...see the smiley face on the left? :)
another one of Stella's inventions...my black slip she found in the closet, then made into a carrier for Pooh Bear! haaha :)

We took a field trip to Patterson's Farm with friends and had a perfect day. We were unsure about the forecast, but the day turned out to be perfect for toddlers and 2 babies! Not so bad for momma's too! Here's Stella picking her own strawberries. They were so pretty and red!

She's already talked about her friends and the strawberry farm once we got home...

a sweet picture waiting for the puppet show to start...

proud girl with her strawberries....

oh well...

I wanted to add a post to "my teaching fix" page, but either I'm dumb and can't figure it out, or blogger won't let you add posts except to your home page....anyway...I'll have to investigate... if you know the answer, please let me know! :)

Here is a video I took yesterday of Stella playing with play-dough. So proud of her using "one to one correspondence" while counting the circles. She did it again today while couting something else all the way up to 11!

Fripp Island

This past week was so relaxing...we took our family vacation at Fripp Island, where you can either ride a bike, ride a golf cart or just walk, to wherever you need to go...Stella's favorite was the golf cart. It's also fun finding deer along the way to the beach...roaming in yards, eating grass, or just standing, for us to admire. Thanks to Gus and Heather for allowing us to stay at your wonderful house...we loved having it as our home for a week...or as Stella would say, "our house on Rookery Lane!"

Here's Stella on the way...she wanted her sunglasses, then she fell asleep...love her too much!

Sawyer did great! He took short naps on the beach under the umbrella, then stayed inside with Mimi and Papaw after they arrived.

Stella and Daddy jumping the waves.

Having a picnic by the water in the back yard...so nice :)

I promise, I didn't tell her to pose like this...

love this one...

It was a little windy and overcast one day, so we decided to go bowling. Stella bowled 2 games and by the end of the second, she could hardly pick up her bowling bowl she was so tired. She loved pushing the ball down the ramp...that was her favorite part.

Here's the chocolate ice cream she talked about all week...can you tell she was a happy girl to finally get some?

check it :)

ok, so I had a little time here at Fripp Island to do some fancies to the blog :) Check out my new signature...not sure if I'll keep it on this one, but at least I know how to do it now! Also, take a look at the new page I added at the top of the blog.."my teaching fix". I think you have to click on it to see if it's updated...I'm pretty sure it doesn't let us know automatically, since it's an "add-on" page. :)

3 Months and Special Moments

So Sawyer is already 3 months! Where does the time go??? He is such a happy baby. Stella was a wonderful baby, but we think he may be even more "laid back" than she was. He smiles and chuckles all the time now, and loves to watch Stella as she plays and talks to him. I think his laugh might just be the sweetest thing I've ever heard. He's holding his head up really well these days..he even sat in Stella's pink Bumbo seat for the first time! (I don't think he cared that it was pink!)

Love this little guy :)

Wendy came over with her fancy camera and took some pictures of Sawyer outside on a gorgeous day. Nice work Wendy!

lady's man :)

I love those little wrinkles...

Sunday, May 1st, Sawyer was dedicated at our home church. Family and friends were there to share this special day.
