Growing Up...

Stella will be 2 in couple of days. I am so proud to say that we have conquered two hurdles...potty training and the transition to the big girl bed.
Here's Stella the first night...after crying and Mommy wondering how in the world this is ever going to work... she finally went to sleep...they always do, right? :)
After the first 2 days, with naps and bedtime (it took 2 hours the second night), we are getting use to our new room. Last night and today, for nap, she went down as normal by herself and went to sleep! Hallelujah!!After that first night of her uncertainty of sleeping in her new room, I decided to make a book to help out with the transition. The next day we went to Wal-Mart, printed the pictures and began reading it right away. I like to think this helped. A happy Stella makes a happy Momma! So proud of you big girl!

Thankful, we are!

Thanksgiving was spent all day with family. Michael and I started the day by relaxing while watching the parade, which Stella enjoyed too. I'm pretty sure the Mickey Mouse balloon was her fave. Then, we had lunch at Mom's. Here's Grandma showing Mom and Aunt Liz how it's done in a game of cards. :)
Stella eating a cake bite...can you tell she doesn't get one of these often?
Grandma teaching me to crotchet...I actually learned a lot...and she was super patient with me! Thanks Grandma!!!

After a much needed nap, we headed over to The Bradley's for more turkey. Here's Stella and cousin Jason looking at something on the computer...I'm pretty sure it was the Disney site.

Happy Thanksgiving from our home to yours!!!

Sawyer's Shower :)

Sawyer had his first baby shower with lots of great things to welcome his upcoming arrival...10 weeks from today, but whose counting? Here are a few things from the wonderful gifts we received. Among the others were a bouncer seat, diapers, more clothes that are to die for, and gift cards! We are so blessed. Super cute wreath that hung on the door to welcome the guests :)

A shirt A. Holly made when we found out it was a boy...so lucky to have crafty friends.

Here's a bright picture of similar colors we'll be using in the nursery. Aqua, brown and orange. Super cute shower invite (thanks to McSwain Design) and sugar cookie favors. Too cute!

Mon, Tues, Wed...

Stella and I have been reading a book about Cookie, the cat, that does something different each day of the week. I guess that's how she would know the days of the week...other than our casual discussions about going to Gymboree on Wednesday or Sunday's we go to church, etc. I feel like she's learning something new everyday- it's a little overwhelming...I feel like saying "slow down"!
