Easter 2014

Easter was a little different this year.  Normally we go to China Grove but instead, we had Easter with Michael's parents.  We had a nice countdown and the  kids heard and re-told the story of Easter over and over.
Here's a pic from one of our projects we did to countdown.  They chose a color they wanted their carnation to be, then we watched as the flower took on a different color, symbolizing how Jesus took our sins for us on the cross.

We dyed Easter eggs...

and they even had a chocolate bunny for breakfast...I think some Easter traditions were born this year...

For the past 3 years Stella has picked her Easter dress out...this is something I looked forward to this year.  I hope we do that together for a long time.  Sawyer even picked his tie out :)

We always have an Easter Egg hunt on Easter with the family in China Grove, but since we weren't there this year, Michael surprised the kids and we had one here instead.
Here's Stella making Fancy finger shadows. Haha :)

Happy (late) Easter!

warmer days make up happier

Last Saturday the weather was so perfect...a little yellow from the pollen but not too much to keep us from being outside. We visited with Bruce and Marilyn while the kids played and found tons of green worms...I'm sure there's a name for the little guys, but green worms is what we call them. :)

Sawyer has a handful of faces he makes randomly that makes me laugh out loud.  Here's one of them.

Stella and Mommy time getting out fingernails done. :)

Outside at Birkdale...Stella always wants to wear this blue dress when we go out with Michael.  She says she likes to wear it with him because blue is his favorite color.

Stella and I ran some errands...we were a little later than expected but I had already sat dinner out, ready to be cooked. This is what I drove up to...supper on a cardboard box.  It's the little things that make my heart happy.

Matthew 5:41

Michael and Jamie started a ministry based on Matthew 5:41.  The first 5K was held this past Saturday in Stanley.  The weather was perfect.   It was not an easy course...stumps, tree roots and even a small plank but we made it!!

Proud to be a small part of this ministry!

more random...

Stella's Lone Ranger mask Mimi made her :)

Sawyer all ready to "shoot the bad guys"

For the past several Saturday's the kids ask to go down to the creek Sawyer always wants to take his guns to get the bad guys.  Stella was in on it this time too.

Somebody has a hunting prop on the land..

Sawyer finished up his semester at Gymboree.  He has already asked about it and wants to go back.  We had such a good time on Thursday mornings.

His buddy Max that lives right down the road from us.  Maybe they'll reunite in sports soon :)

BIG decorating step just happened!

Lately I've been challenged with yoga.  I love how I feel after being all stretched out.  Here are some of my moves...I have a long way to go, but I like it!

Sweet Sawyer slept through a trip to Tony's Ice Cream...who does that!!?

Thursdays were always our "eat out" day for lunch.

Mom and Dad watched the kids a few weekends back while Michael and I went to Charleston for our 9th anniversary.  We had such a great time doing NOTHING, eating by ourselves, and just being together.  Thank you Mom and Dad!!!!!

This is how I found Sawyer after his rest time was up...I guess he was tired that day :)

We are so thankful that Bruce was able to be back in the pulpit a few Sunday's ago.  His message was so good and his strength, I know, came from God.  What a blessing!
