A few Videos

I've been thinking about letting Stella practice drinking from a cup lately, but the thought is as far as I got, until today. I've let her drink from my cup or while I'm holding the cup, but her independence has grown so much, I think she's ready for one of her own! We are going to try to drink a little water from a cup after every meal for practice, from now on. I'll keep a towel nearby for all the spills in my future ;)

Stella and I discussing family....where they are...what they might be doing....this is an everyday thing for us, sometimes several times a day ;)

Easter

We started our Easter celebration by going to the Mt. Holly egg hunt. I suggest their be a "toddler area" next year, so they don't' get trampled... :)
Stella loves looking in the mirror when she tries on something new or different. I love this picture!

little Easter Bunny

We went to Papa and Nena's church Easter morning...we had to get a picture with them all in yellow ;) Bruce preached a wonderful Easter sermon reminding us all that He chose to die and rise again.
After church we went to be with the family in China Grove. We sang, played ball, and had an egg hunt....all after a yummy meal.

playing with the cousins...

Thank you Jesus, for giving us Easter! He IS alive :)

March of Dimes

As you can see, I've added a new element to my page concerning March of Dimes. For a little background info...I became involved in March of Dimes when I was a junior in high school. At the time, I didn't know of any babies who were born premature...but, since I was involved in Early Childhood Education...I had a passion for doing what I could to help...so I walked for babies.

After graduating high school, I majored in Child and Family Development. It wasn't until then, I realized how awesome and critical the journey from conception to birth can be. Now, I've not only studied and read about premature babies, but I've experienced a fraction of what my close friends felt as they looked at their new baby with tubes and machines all around them...as they fought for life.
The money raised for March of Dimes supports programs that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. It also helps to fund research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies.
If you would like to donate, simply go to my personal page or click on "sponsor me" to the right, then follow the simple steps...or contact me with the amount you would like to pledge. Thank you for your support! The walk this year is April 24th.

Addie, Emma and Haven are my inspiration this year.
Here are some of their pictures while in the NICU.

Thank you Jesus, for all you have done for these special babies. We know you were holding them each step of the way.

16 months, already!

Our little sunshine is 16 months!
Here is a list of what's new in her world:
She has mastered the art of "nesting" with her blocks and nesting cups. She even knows to turn them over when she's done to start over...I'm working on getting this on video now...

She can complete her "knob" puzzles easily

She tries to repeat all words

She loves to get an update on the people she loves when she wakes up, so I have to report to her that "Maw" is at home, "Da" is at work, etc.

She loves loves LOVES to see Daisy

She doesn't love peas anymore...she has eaten them for months on end, so I guess she's sick of them now! (I'll keep trying :)

She loves any kind of fruit, and today we learned that she likes PRUNES!

the list goes on.... we love her :)
