a little more of September

Sawyer doing his famous "dance"...the funny thing about the picture was how far he had his pants pulled up....but you can't really see it :)

Michael and I headed out to his 20 year class reunion!

Our annual Apple Picking trip to Apple Hill Orchards.  The weather was perfect.  We tried not to think about this time next year when 3 of those little girls will be in Kindergarten!

We are so glad Mimi's strength is coming back!!

Mr. Josh using Sawyer to demonstrate on the apple trees grow.

Mom was asked to give her testimony at a church nearby and this is what Stella drew while we were listening.  It's Lilly and Mr. Slinger from her new book, "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse"  I love how she spelled Lilly. :)

We got together with some friends to play  In the picture they are listening to Julie Murphy read her book she has recently gotten published.  We went to church with Julie a few years back.  The book was wonderful and will be available in all bookstores and Amazon in October.  The title it, "What if we were all Gray?"

When we got home, we had rest time and I was reminded that nap times do still exist! :)

Looking forward to October!!!

the day has come...

Normally the fall season, holidays, and weekends aren't really any different for us..just library day, and church on Sunday, but that changed this past week.  Stella started her first and last year of Preschool.  We made a countdown prayer chain that I found here.  Together, we thought of what to pray about each night leading up to her first day.  How in the world did it seem like I just made it, then all of a sudden the chains were gone. ..

Sawyer wanted in on the pics, too :)

Davis and Stella

The same day was her first day back at gymnastics...busy busy day, for sure.

questions, questions, questions

Here's a small portion of what I hear on a daily basis in the car with Sawyer Bradley.

- Can we eat toes? (being silly)
- Do motorcycles have seatbelts?
- Where's Sissy?
- What's a thief?
- Where's the devil's head?
- Why?
- How do pull a car (talking about a tow truck)?
- Do you have blue eyes?
- Where's Daddy?
- How do you get to the top of there? (referring to the steam plant)
- Do we eat mulch?
- Are backpacks, book bags?
- Can I bump into someone on my four-wheeler?
- How do babies jump off steps?
and my favorite.... Do you love my kisses?

Seriously, some days I feel like I talk all day...without really knowing what I'm saying...I just know I'm answering questions from the sweetest blonde headed boy I know.

her second home...

Mom finished her last round of radiation a few weeks back...thank you Lord!  Follow up appointments and gaining her strength back is in the works now.  Here are some pops she took to her nurse friends she saw on a daily basis.

One day visiting Mackie, she showed us the new "Button Chair" to honor those who have fought Cancer.  This chair will stay at the Lincolnton campus.

Moms is the small white one on top.

I still can't believe she had breast cancer...what a journey...what a year...so thankful it is coming to a close.  The best is yet to come...

a little experimenting...

I read so many different blogs and see pics on pinterest that I forget where the idea came from...but here's an experiment on how different colors mixed together produce more colors.  As soon as we put the paper towels in the cups the colors automatically began traveling.  It was really neat. Then as the day went on, they met and produced more colors! :)

It was a little hard to see the purple and barely the orange, but the green turned out really well!

and...shaving cream painting :)
